Admiral Salil K Mohanty is a multifaceted highly decorated Navy Veteran who has served Indian Armed Forces Medical Services for 35 years. He held varous key appointments as Surgeon, Medical teacher and Administrator. He headed the 850 bedded largest Naval Hospital at Mumbai. He took part in Kargil war and 5th Indian Scientific expedition to Antarctica. For his distinguished services he wa awarded Sena Medal and Visist Seva Medal by the President of India. Post retirement he worked as the Medical Director of Jaslok Hospital at Mumbai for about 5 years and was responsible for setting, starting and successfully running AMRI Hospital Bhubaneswar as Vice President and Unit Head for over 4 years.
